A Cedar Rapids man faces a felony charge after allegedly attacking his wife in the Iowa City VA Hospital parking lot.
Iowa City Police say witnesses observed 39-year-old Jacob Snyder of 20th Avenue SW wrap his fists around the neck of his wife and throw her to the ground in the VA parking lot on Highway 6 West just before 10:15pm on May 6th. Snyder then allegedly punched the woman multiple times before fleeing to his vehicle. The incident was caught on security video.
Snyder was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 7am Friday and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault – 3rd or Subsequent Offense. If convicted, he faces a maximum of five years in prison.
