A Solon man was taken into custody after allegedly beating a woman and threatening to shoot at arriving police Monday night.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the residence of 31-year-old Scott Zenisek of 180th Street Northeast after the victim called a relative, telling them to call authorities for help. The arrest report indicated that there is a history of fights and domestics at the address.

Upon arrival, it was reported that Zenisek told the woman that if cops came, he would shoot at them. Deputies witnessed Zenisek walking around the inside and outside of the house with a long gun before taking him into custody.

The victim told authorities that Zenisek beat her with a wooden board and pushed her into a living room table that was obviously broken. The woman had visible bruises on her body and complained of head and neck pain.

Zenisek was taken into custody and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault causing Injury, and Domestic Abuse Assault with the use of a Dangerous Weapon. If convicted on both counts, he could be sentenced to a maximum three years in jail.

A no-contact order was requested by the victim.
