IMCC inmate dies in hospice

An inmate has died at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in Coralville.

According to the Iowa Department of Corrections, 73-year-old Amel Frederick Lueth was pronounced dead due to natural causes at 6:48 p.m. on Saturday while in the IMCC hospice unit. Lueth had been serving a 30-year maximum term for multiple Controlled Substance Violations out of Story County. His sentence began on May 31, 2012.
