The latest movie about Dracula might not be doing well at the box office, but it could have inspired a rural Johnson County man accused of biting another man’s neck during an assault late Friday night.

Arrest records indicate Johnson County deputies were called to an address on Iowa-Johnson Road near Oxford just after 11:30pm. The reporting party stated that he had been in a physical altercation with 26-year-old Steven Hradek at Hradek’s residence. At one point, Hradek allegedly struck the man in the head and bit him on the neck. Investigators say they observed red marks and fresh wounds on the alleged victim’s head and a bite mark near the base of his neck and trap muscle.

Hradek is charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury. If convicted, he faces a maximum of one year in jail.

The Nicholas Cage film “Renfield”, about Dracula and his assistant, opened to a disappointing $3.1 million on Friday.
