Drugs and weapons were seized from a Westwinds Drive apartment during a drug raid last year.

That’s according to Iowa City Police, who say the search warrant in the case was served on January 28th of 2022. According to arrest records, officers located 344 grams of mariajauna, three firearms, digital scales, packaging materials and a large amount of cash inside the residence. Police say they recovered text messages between 22-year-old Robert Redmond Jr. of 2nd Avenue and a co-defendant which indicate Redmond had been selling marijauna over the previous six months.

Redmond was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 2:15 Friday morning and charged with a Controlled Substance Violation and Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of ten years in prison.
