Iowa City police have made an arrest in the case of a suspect who allegedly approached junior high school students last week on Court Hill Trail.

According to the original story, the incident occurred at about 8:30 am Wednesday while two junior high students were walking the Court Hill Trail through Court Hill Park. A man followed them to the Muscatine Avenue entrance of Memory Gardens Cemetery, where he then approached them and made sexually explicit comments towards them. According to the arrest report, the man offered to perform a sex act on the two males.

One of the victims told police that they had encountered the man along the trail the morning of September 8th, with the man making the same proposition.

On Monday police announced the arrest of 29-year-old Brayton Kylar Reynolds of Amber Lane. He was allegedly found walking on Court Hill Trail, wearing the same outfit from the previous incident.  While police were with him, the two victims from last week’s incident happened to walk by on their way to school. Both victims identified Reynolds as the man who propositioned them in both incidents.

Reynolds has been charged with three counts of Enticing a Minor under 16 for sexual purposes, three counts of 1st degree Harassment, and one count of Controlled Substance possession. If convicted on all charges, Reynolds could be sentenced to up to 22 years in prison.
