A central Iowa man has been arrested after police say he drove to Iowa City with the intent of committing a sex act with a minor.

29-year-old David Tejada Interiano of Urbandale was arrested at approximately 1:45 Tuesday afternoon after he parked his 2011 GMC Acadia near the intersection of 1st Avenue and Court Street, near City High School. Iowa City Police say earlier this month Tejada Interiano began communicating with a person he believed to be under the age of 16. He allegedly arranged to meet the other person for the purpose of committing sex acts. The communications reportedly included Tejada Interiano sending the other person a photo of his erect penis and telling them he had condoms and would purchase “Plan B’ birth control for them. Tejada Interiano arrived at the pre-arranged location at the specified time and was arrested.

Tejada Interiano is charged with two counts of Enticing a Minor Under the Age of 16 for Sexual Purposes and one count of Driving While Denied or Revoked. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of 11 years in prison.
