A beating outside a downtown Iowa City convenience store has led to an arrest on rioting and willful injury charges.

31-year-old Tajeria Beacham of Cross Park Avenue was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 1:45 Wednesday morning. Iowa City Police say Beacham was among a group of people who engaged in large fight in the parking lot of the East Burlington Street Kum & Go just after 2:30am on September 10th. Security video reportedly shows Beacham and three other women stomping on a woman who was defenseless on the ground. Police say Beacham is specifically seen stomping on the woman’s head before taunting the other woman and the woman’s friends.

The alleged victim suffered a concussion and multiple cuts as a result of the attack.

Beacham is charged with Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury and Participating in a Riot. If convicted on both charges, she faces a maximum of ten years in prison.
