An Iowa City man was arrested after allegedly using another person’s credit card last month to purchase convenience store gift cards.

Police say 39-year-old Nicholas Anderson of Regal Lane first used the card at the 1st Avenue Kum &Go in Coralville August 29th, and purchased two $50 gift cards.  Anderson then went to a different Kum & Go later the same day and purchased two more cards valued at $50.

Closed-circuit surveillance and receipts allegedly showed the victim’s card was used by Anderson to purchase the gift cards.

A warrant was issued on September 5th; Anderson was arrested Wednesday night and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a jail term of up to two years if convicted.
