The University of Iowa has begun establishing a new “Campus Safety Service Center” in downtown Iowa City.

School officials say two frequently used Campus Safety services have already moved to the first floor of the Old Capitol Town Center in an effort to make them more visible to the campus community.
As of last Monday, both Lost and Found and Fingerprinting Services are being offered out of 139 UCC, located on the first floor of the Old Capitol Town Center in the suite next to Student Disability Services.

The new Campus Safety Service Center will eventually house Community Outreach and the Threat Assessment Team, and it will also include a space for Student Care and Assistance to meet with students as well as a Community Room that will be open for all students and employees to use for events, meetings, and other activities. That transition is still taking place, and an open house will be announced in the coming months.

The Campus Safety Service Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
All other Campus Safety services will continue to operate out of 808 UCC, on the lower level of the building with an outside entrance on South Capitol Street. The space is staffed 24/7 to provide emergency response services to campus.
