An Iowa City man accused of sexually assaulting a child has reached a plea deal.
Online court records show 37-year-old Ronald Dixon entered a guilty plea during a court appearance on Wednesday.
Dixon had been charged with two counts each of 2nd Degree Sexual Abuse and Lascivious Acts With A Child. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says the alleged victim told investigators that Dixon had inappropriate sexual contact with her on multiple occasions between approximately May of 2018 and May of 2020. The girl estimates she was ten or 11 years old when the incidents took place.
If convicted on all charges, Dixon would have faced a maximum of 70 years in prison.
Terms of the plea deal have not been released. Sentencing is set for Friday.
