A Wellman man who allegedly was under the influence of meth and decided to take a break from driving picked the wrong place to rest-the yard of a sheriff’s deputy.

The deputy was leaving his Oxford property Sunday night at around 9:30 to begin his shift when he observed a vehicle parked on his lane.  The vehicle was unoccupied, and 55-year-old Nick Temple was located lying on the ground near a barn on the south edge of the deputy’s property.

Temple reportedly admitting to driving to the deputy’s location and showed signs of recent meth use. He allegedly said he was trying to get to Cedar Rapids, but decided to take a break.  A check of records showed Temple’s driving privileges were revoked and he had no valid driver’s license.

Temple was charged with Driving While Revoked, driving without a valid license, and trespassing. He could face up to a year in jail if convicted on the charges.
