The Oxford Fire Department is raising funds to purchase a thermal imaging device for the agency.

The fundraiser is a part of the department’s “Adopt a Tool” program. The thermal imaging camera would allow Oxford firefighters to see in smoke-filled structures. The camera can be used for search and rescue as well as for finding hot spots that are invisible to the naked eye.

The price of the thermal imaging camera is $1,000. The Oxford Fire Department is looking for either a single donor or enough smaller donors to total the required amount.

For more information on donating, contact the Oxford Fire Department via their Facebook page or email [email protected].
