Icy conditions lead to more highway accidents even after snowfall ends

Icy and windy conditions led to multiple crashes on local highways and Interstates even after the snow stopped falling early Sunday morning.

Dispatch records show the Hills Fire Department and Johnson County Ambulance Service were called to a rollover accident on northbound Highway 218 two miles north of the Hills exit just after 11:45 Sunday morning. Another collision accident was reported on northbound Interstate 380 near the 3.5 mile marker just before 1:00 Sunday afternoon. North Liberty firefighters and the Johnson County Ambulance Service were initially called to the scene, but were soon told to disregard.

Tiffin and Coralville firefighters and the Johnson County Ambulance Service were called to a traffic collision on eastbound I-80 between the Tiffin and I-380 exits just before 11:00 Monday morning.

Online records do not indicate if there are any injuries in any of the accidents.
