A Coralville man was arrested after police allegedly observed him engaging in the sale of drugs and found evidence of his dealings at his residence.

According to the criminal complaint, 24-year-old Cameron Bailey of 12th Street was observed selling marijuana in the parking lot of the Keokuk Street Kwik Star at 10:20 pm January 5th. During their investigation, police were able to recover 3.5 grams of marijuana that Bailey reportedly sold during the transaction.

A search warrant was executed at Bailey’s residence about an hour later. Officers allegedly located approximately 15 grams of marijuana, multiple packages used to deliver the drug, and multiple scales.  Bailey was also reportedly in possession of a large amount of cash.

Investigators indicated that Bailey was utilizing his residence to keep and sell a controlled substance, and requested an arrest warrant. He was taken into custody Thursday and charged with a controlled substance violation, keeping premises for controlled substances, and marijuana possession. If convicted on all counts, he could be sentenced to up to eight years in prison. He was released on his own recognizance pending further court dates.
