An Iowa City man faces charges that he sexually assaulted a nine-year-old.
Iowa City Police say just before 9:30 Saturday morning 21-year-old Gabriel Elombe Etuma of Brookside Drive lured the child into the basement of an Iowa City residence. A witness walked in on Elombe Etuma allegedly forcing himself upon the child while he had his underwear around his ankles. Witnesses say they had to forcibly remove him from the girl, who was begging for help.
Elombe Etuma is charged with 2nd Degree Sexual Abuse. If convicted, he faces a maximum of 25 years in prison.
