An Iowa City man was arrested Monday night after he reportedly got into an argument with his girlfriend and wouldn’t let her leave his apartment.

The incident allegedly occurred just before 8pm at the South Linn Street apartment of 41-year-old Daniel Oxenford.  During the argument, he reportedly would not let his girlfriend leave the apartment and pushed her into a bathroom. She sustained marks to her wrist and the back of her neck as a result.

When police arrived, Oxenford met them in the hallway and allegedly was very agitated. He also reportedly admitted he was intoxicated.  Oxenford then resisted officers when told he was under arrest.

Oxenford faces charges of Domestic Abuse causing Injury, False Imprisonment, Public intoxication and Interference with Official Acts. If convicted on the charges, he faces a maximum sentence of 26 months in jail.

A no-contact order was requested between the two parties.
