University of Iowa Head Women’s Basketball Coach Lisa Bluder has announced that transfer Lucy Olsen has signed with the Hawkeyes.
Olson competed the previous three seasons at Villanova University. She was rated the fourth best player in the transfer portal by ESPN.com.
Olson’was third best in the country in scoring last season behind Caitlin Clark and USC’s JuJu Watkins. She averaged 23.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.
The junior guard was named an Honorable Mention All-American by the Associated Press. Olsen also highlighted the All-Big East by earning first team accolades and the Most Improved Player Award last season.
In a release from the University, Coach Bluder called Olson a tremendous student-athlete with an excellent resume. She said her skill set and personality was exactly what the Hawkeyes were trying to get out of the transfer portal.
