Driving at night without your headlights will usually grab the attention of police; in an Iowa City man’s case, it lea to his second OWI arrest Friday night.

According to police, they observed 33-year-old Cordaro Williams of North Clinton Street on First Avenue in Coralville near the Super 7 Hotel driving a vehicle with dealer plates. The headlights were reportedly not turned on, despite it being nearly 10:30pm. Officers initiated a traffic stop on Williams, who allegedly had bloodshot, watery eyes and smelled of ingested alcohol. He reportedly admitted to drinking and smoking marijuana.

Williams showed measurable impairment on field sobriety tests, and both PBT and Datamaster measurements were over the legal limit.

He was charged with OWI second offense, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a prison sentence of up to two years if convicted.
