Man struck and killed by train Friday was City High athlete

The man who was struck and killed by a train in Iowa City Friday has been identified.
25 year-old Isaiah Washpun was a 2012 graduate of City High and played for the football team.
Police responded to the area of Scott Boulevard and Heinz Road at 7:30am Friday after a railroad employee notified them of the incident.
Visitation is set for Gay and Ciha Funeral Home on Muscatine Avenue starting at 1pm Saturday; the funeral will follow at 3pm.
The incident remains under investigation.
