The city of Coralville has announced the theme and released the logo for its RAGBRAI stop later this year.

The Des Moines Register‘s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa will stop in Coralville on the night of Friday, July 28th.

Mayor Meghann Foster and City Administrator Kelly Hayworth revealed the theme and logo Friday at Coralville City Hall. The logo looks like a bicycle spoke and includes this year’s theme: Cheers Through the Years. The theme and logo celebrate this year’s RAGBRAI stop coinciding with Coralville’s 150th anniversary as a city.

Hayworth says as of Friday 18,000 riders had registered for the weeklong bicycle ride. By comparison, only 11,800 people took part in last year’s event. Hayworth says 500 people have signed up for one-day passes from Tama to Coralville, with another 450 buying one-day passes for the route from Coralville to the Quad Cities.

Coralville is seeking volunteers and host families for the event. For more information, interested parties can go to the newly-launched web site coralvilleragbrai.com.

Hayworth says an announcement on the entertainment for the event will be made on April 24th.

Video of the full news conference can be found on the Coralville RAGBRAI Facebook page.

Overnight RAGBRAI stops this year include Storm Lake, Carroll, Ames, Des Moines, Tama-Toledo, and Coralville before the ride ends in Davenport on July 29th.

The Coralville stop will include S.T. Morrison Park as the hub for camping and entertainment. 2023 marks the first time RAGBRAI has come through Coralville since 2015, and the sixth time overall.
