An Iowa City woman was arrested after both she and her intimate partner consumed large amount of alcohol and got into a physical altercation.
44-year-old Renee Winn and the man reportedly drank on Monday into Tuesday leading to a verbal argument at multiple locations that were witnessed. When back at their residence, police say numerous items were broken by both parties before a physical confrontation occurred.
Winn allegedly hit the man multiple times in the face, causing bleeding to his lips and redness to his face. Both parties pushed each other during the continued altercation. Winn reportedly broke the man’s phone, which led to the man leaving the residence with a friend and flagging down police for help.
Winn allegedly admitted to breaking the man’s phone but denied any physical altercation. When being taken into custody, she began yelling at the man.
She was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault causing Injury, a serious misdemeanor. A no-contact order was requested.
