A search warrant related to a long-running drug investigation has led to charges against a Coralville woman.

Officers from the Iowa City Police executed the warrant the afternoon of August 8th on the Holiday Court residence of 29-year-old Tanicka Walton. A search of the premises allegedly turned up items consistent with the sale and distribution of marijuana, including about a half-pound of the product, packaging material, a scale, and cash.

A review of Walton’s cellphone records reportedly showed Walton was involved in the distribution of marijuana with an unknown co-defendant, and that Walton’s residence was being used to store the marijuana.

A warrant for her arrest was issued on August 28th; Walton was arrested Sunday morning. She’s been charged with a Controlled Substance Violation, Failure to affix Drug Tax Stamp, and Keeping Premises for Controlled Substances. If convicted on all counts, Walton could be sentenced to up to twelve years in prison.
