Iowa City woman charged with criminal mischief stemming from argument

An Iowa City woman was charged after an argument escalated to property damage.

According to police, 24-year-old Rayanna Haslett Tomova of South Van Buren Street and another individual were involved in an argument March 20th just after 10pm. She allegedly told police that she got “a little more upset than normal” and broke out the back window of the victim’s 2005 Toyota valued between $200-$250.

Another individual allegedly saw Tomova break out the window and recorded her as she walked away. Tomova reportedly admitted to breaking out the window but refused to pay for it.

She is charged with 5th degree Criminal Mischief and has a court date April 17th.  Tomova could face up to 30 days in jail if convicted.
