A long time employee of an Iowa City architectural firm is suing her former boss after allegedly being recorded as she was pumping breast milk at work.

The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports that 32-year-old Jessica Clark discovered a recording device disguised as a pen in a conference room at Carlson Design this past December.

The suit was filed Monday against 67-year-old Robert Carlson and Carlson Design Team, claiming sexual harassment, sex discrimination, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Court records show the Iowa City Police are investigating the incident and have executed a search warrant on the premises.

Clark states that she has worked full-time for the firm starting in 2010 and pumped breast milk at the firm after her first son was born in 2015. She did the same thing following her daughter’s birth at the beginning of last year.

She discovered the recording device in December and Googled how to use it. She then saw the footage of her pumping breast milk and called police. Authorities received the recording device from Clark. During the execution of a search warrant police seized a desktop computer, two laptops, USB drives, disks, documents, a cellphone and digital cameras, according to affidavits filed with the suit.

No dollar amount for damages was mentioned in the Gazette story.
