A Michigan man was arrested after being found with marijuana and related paraphernalia Sunday night.

Police say 58-year-old John Andrew of Northfield Michigan was allegedly observed acting suspiciously while leaving a gas station at around 11:50pm. He got onto I-380 near Shueyville and nearly came to a complete stop while on the roadway as the officer was attempting to identify the vehicle.

Upon contact, Andrew was asked to step out of the vehicle due to the reported smell of marijuana. He failed field testing and gave a PBT reading of .055. A K9 gave a positive hit on the vehicle however, and the subsequent search yielded a beer bottle, bong, edibles, multiple other pieces of drug paraphernalia, and a green leafy substance that smelled of raw marijuana.

Andrew was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and first offense OWI. If convicted on all counts, he could be sentenced to a prison term not exceeding 25 months.
