A Tiffin man was taken into custody after being accused of assaulting a woman.
Police say 36-year-old William Koehne of Kimberlite Street was in an argument just before 3am Tuesday with a woman at his residence that turned physical.
During the altercation, Koehne is accused of getting on top of the woman and placing his hands around her throat. He allegedly also covered her mouth and nose to prevent her from yelling.
Officers noted that the woman had redness around her neck, and she stated that she had trouble breathing during the incident.
Koehne was taken into custody and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault Impeding Airflow, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a prison sentence of up to two years if convicted. A no-contact order was requested between the two people involved.
