Three people have been taken into police custody following an early morning robbery on Iowa City’s southeast side.

Police say they were called to the 1900 block of Broadway Street about 3:50 Saturday morning on a report of a robbery, which occurred under the threat of violence. The victim told responding officers three males had stolen money and other items.

Officers tracked the possible suspects to a nearby apartment but say initial attempts to speak with them were unsuccessful. They say they then received information guns might have been present inside the apartment and multiple attempts to contact the men were unsuccessful.

A search warrant was eventually served at 7:40 a.m. by the IC Metro Special Response Team and two men – Isidore Nagueza, 22, and Dillon Kellerman, 18 – surrendered at 10:13 a.m. A third man – Moudine Sitou, 24 – held out for another half-an-hour before being taken into custody. There is no mention of any weapons being located inside the apartment.

Police say Nagueza had two active warrants out for probation violations and Kellerman was wanted for a previous assault. They say their investigation into the robbery is still on-going and charges have not yet been filed.
