Allegedly giving a wheelchair-bound University of Iowa student Viagra, then stealing his medicine has led to a Coralville woman’s arrest.
UI Police say 30-year-old Tanisha Annette Newman of the Western Hills Estates manufactured housing community agreed to meet the man at his Currier Hall dorm room the night of July 18th in order to have sex. She allegedly assisted him into bed, gave him Viagra, then stole his medicine. The alleged victim is wheelchair-bound and was unable to get out of bed. The man has a heart condition and required the medication to live.
The total value of the stolen medications is over $1,200. They included fentanyl, Adderall, Diazepam, cyclobenzaprine and multiple other medications.
Newman is charged with 2nd Degree Theft, Unlawful Possession of a Prescription Drug and Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp. If convicted on all charges, she faces a maximum of 11 years in prison.
