Pedestrian hit by train, killed on Scott Boulevard

Iowa City Police say a pedestrian was struck and killed by a train early Friday morning.
The incident was reported around 7:30am by a railroad employee after a man was hit on Scott Boulevard, near the Sunrise Village trailer park.
Iowa Interstate Railroad is the primary investigating agency and is being assisted by the ICPD and the Johnson County Medical Examiner’s Office. No further information is available for release, pending identification of the deceased and appropriate notifications.
