The man University of Iowa Police say videotaped at least one woman showering in a UI dormitory is back behind bars.
26-year-old Robert Hightower of Petsel Place was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 4:30 Friday afternoon on a probation violation. Hightower was on probation after his conviction on charges of 2nd Degree Burglary and Invasion of Privacy stemming from a 2016 incident at Burge Hall. Police say Hightower gained entry to the dorm and videotaped a woman showering in a fifth floor restroom. A video recovered by police also showed a second, naked woman toweling off.
Hightower was also accused of peeping on a woman in a changing room at the Coralville Target.
Authorities now say Hightower left the state without permission, travelling to Illinois on Tuesday. He has also failed to show up for a scheduled appointment with his parole officer and skipped a session with his mandatory Sex Offender Treatment Group.
On Thursday, a parole officer discovered Hightower had lost his employment sometime between April 26th and May 9th and failed to report it in the time frame required.
When finally contacted on Friday, Hightower allegedly said he would test positive for marijuana, and was found in possession of a smartphone. Hightower is not approved to possess a smartphone, and did not report his cell number to the Department of Correctional Services.
