A North Liberty man who allegedly threw a bottle during a fight at a children’s birthday party is back behind bars.

29-year-old Carlos Figueroa Garcia of the Holiday Lodge manufactured housing community was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 4:30 Monday afternoon. Figueroa Garcia was wanted for failing to appear at an arraignment on a Child Endangerment charge stemming from an incident in Iowa City last fall.

Iowa City Police were called to a 9-1-1 hangup at an address on the 2400 block of Lakeside Drive at 10:15pm on November 3rd. Arriving officers found several people on the scene, some of whom had suffered injuries.

An investigation determined that a physical fight had taken place in the hallway during a children’s birthday party. At one point, a glass bottle was thrown, hitting one of the attendees and shattering. Glass shards fell over one of the children with an infant present.

If convicted, Figueroa Garcia faces a maximum of two years in prison.
