An Iowa City woman is in custody after allegedly escalating a fight that started on Facebook and ended with her slashing at the victim with a knife.
Arrest reports indicate that 24-year-old Euniece Aaron of the 800 block of Westwinds Drive was involved in a verbal altercation with another woman on social media over a Facebook post. The son of the woman Aaron was arguing with was at her apartment, and she told the woman to come pick him up.
The woman went to Aaron’s apartment at approximately 12:40pm Sunday and was confronted by Aaron on the steps outside the apartment, starting another verbal argument. Aaron allegedlly had a knife with her, and started slashing at the woman. She suffered three stab wounds to her left arm requiring immediate attention.
As for Aaron, she told police that she’s 34 weeks pregnant, and alleges that the victim kicked her in the stomach twice. Both women were transported by ambulance to the hospital.
Aaron was charged with Going Armed With Intent, Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury, and Child Endangerment. If convicted on all charges, she could be sentenced to up to 17 years in prison.
