Iowa City Police responded to a report of gunshots and a woman trying to fight a group of teenagers early Sunday morning.

According to arrest records, Iowa City Police were called to 1102 Hollywood Boulevard just before 12:45am after a report of a drunk woman trying to fight with juveniles. Another caller reported people arriving to the address to “start stuff”, and said he or she heard gunshots.

Arriving officers could hear yelling, then saw two women walk into the parking lot fighting and pulling each other to the ground.

The two women were separated and detained. One of the women, 36-year-old Jessica Walker, allegedly refused officers’ orders to stop resisting. She also showed multiple signs of intoxication and refused to identify herself.

There were no signs of shots being fired. The Hollywood Boulevard address has been the subject of recent calls to police about dice games and dozens of subjects armed with baseball bats and shovels gathering to fight.

Walker, who lists her address as Shelter House on Southgate Avenue, continued to be belligerent towards officers and resist arrest. She’s charged with Public Intoxication and Interference with Official Acts. If convicted, she faces a maximum of 60 days in jail.
