Iowa City Superintendent of schools Steve Murley has announced he will leave the position when his contract ends in the summer of 2021.
Murley made the announcement Tuesday in a letter to students and others. He said he feels after ten years on the job, it’s time to transition both professionally and personally.
Before taking the Iowa City Superintendent’s job in 2010, Murley had worked for the Wausau, Wisconsin school district.
A search for Murley’s successor likely won’t begin until after the November 5th school board election.
