A Coralville woman who allegedly said she was so mad at the father of their child that she wanted to take his head off was taken into custody for domestic assault.
Police were dispatched to the 100 block of 2nd Street in Coralville for reports of a domestic incident. Upon arrival, it was discovered that a man had been hit in the head with a can of Raid. He had a one-inch laceration above his left eye.
Officers interviewed the woman involved, 23-year-old Roniesha Reynolds of 6th Street, who allegedly told them she was trying to take the man’s head off.
She allegedly resisted officer commands to exit the vehicle the couple were in, and resisted attempts to put her in handcuffs despite numerous requests to comply. Once cuffed, Reynolds reportedly refused to get into the back of the squad car despite attempts to tell her she was being placed under arrest and required to do so.
Reynolds reportedly is pregnant with the couple’s second child.
She was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault with Intent to Inflict Serious Injury, and Interference with Official Acts. If convicted on the charges, Reynolds could be sentenced to up to 25 months in prison.
