An Iowa City man who police say posted a sex video to a pornographic web site without his partner’s permission has been fined $625.

Police say 23-year-old Grant Draper also texted the victim numerous times with harassing and vulgar messages. One of the messages contained a link to a pornographic web site which showed Draper and the alleged victim engaged in a sex act. Draper and the woman are the only people who had access to the video, and the woman never gave permission for it to be posted to the web site. Some of the other text messages Draper allegedly sent to the woman referenced the distribution of pornographic material.

The phone number Draper used to send the text was linked to an app called Hushed, which allows users to buy temporary phone numbers. Two numbers found on the app were linked to Draper.

Draper and the woman had been involved in a previous romantic relationship, which included the two living together.  A no-contact order had been in place at the time the text messages were sent.

Draper was initially charged with 1st Degree Harassment and Violating a No-Contact Order. If convicted on the harassment charge, he could have faced a maximum of two years in prison.

Draper reached a deal with prosecutors, and agreed to plead guilty to a lesser charge of 3rd Degree Harassment in exchange for only receiving a fine.
