It’s once again officially a Hawkeye State.

The University of Iowa women’s swimming and diving team defeated Iowa State,179-121, at the Beyer Natatorium on Friday night. The win clinched the 2019 Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series for the Hawkeyes.

Iowa had already secured victories in football, men’s and women’s basketball, wrestling and soccer. Iowa State won head-to-head matchups in volleyball and men’s and women’s cross country.

Each win in the series is worth two points except in football, where a victory is worth three points.

There are still CyHawk Series contests remaining in tennis, gymnastics and softball this season, but even a Cyclone sweep in those three events would not overcome Iowa’s 13-6 lead in points.

This is Iowa’s 10th straight win in the CyHawk Series.
