A North Liberty woman implicated in credit card thefts from the University of Iowa Campus Recreation and Wellness Center is back behind bars after allegedly skipping multiple court dates.

24-year-old Tamara Longmire of Penn Oaks Drive was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 11pm Tuesday. Online records indicate Longmire failed to appear at an October 8th case management conference on a 3rd Degree Theft charge. UI Police say Longmire and another woman stole phones, cash, credit cards and debit cards from the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center women’s locker room on May 24th. She then allegedly went directly to Coral Ridge Mall and used the stolen cards to purchase $1,275.78 in goods and services.

Police say Longmire skipped other court dates relating to other, unrelated charges as well.

Longmire also faces new charges stemming from a November 2nd incident at Kohl’s in Coralville. Coralville Police say she removed security tags from clothing in the dressing room just after 2:45pm, put on a pair of new shoes and walked out of the store. Longmire was stopped by loss prevention, but she allegedly gave a false name and date of birth. An officer issued her a ticket under the false name before learning her real identity.

Longmire is charged with 5th Degree Theft and Providing False Identity Information. If convicted on the new charges, she faces a maximum of 60 days in jail.
