A small Christmas Eve fire will keep a popular Coralville restaurant from opening until Friday.
Officials from Old Chicago on the Coralville Strip say that the fire was contained to the exterior of the building. Several fire trucks were reportedly at the scene but people reporting on social media that the business was a total loss was just speculation.
In a Facebook post on Christmas morning, the restaurant said “we will be closed Thursday the 26th due to a small fire last night; reopening the 27th.”
No other details have been released from the fire department on cause or extent of the blaze. This story will be updated as more information is released.
