A Hope House escapee has been captured in North Liberty.
Online records show 39-year-old Kyle Wagner signed out of the Holiday Road facility in Coralville at 6:42am last Friday with a listed return time of 4:50 that afternoon. He did not report back.
Wagner was located after a report of an assault at his parents’ residence on Swan Lake Road just before 3:30pm Sunday. Wagner was allegedly verbally and physically resistive when officers attempted to take him into custody. Police say he had to be forced into the squad car.
Wagner is charged with Interference with Official Acts. if convicted, he faces a maximum of 30 days in jail.
