The city of Iowa City has received over $70,000 in federal funding to support the city’s preparation for and response to COVID-19.

The $72,542 comes from the Department of Justice Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding Program. It will help pay for overtime, PPE, hiring, medical supplies, training, and travel expenses. Some of the money will also be used to address medical needs of inmates in state, local and tribal jails, prisons and other detention centers.
