The group Iowa Freedom Riders says it will resume protests in downtown Iowa City this afternoon.
In an Instagram post, the group says the demonstration will begin at 3pm on the Pentacrest. The post says the group is resuming protests after a two-day moratorium because city officials have failed to act on a list of demands the group shared with the Iowa City city council on Tuesday. The Freedom Riders claim their demands could have been enacted quickly, but the council has yet to take action.
