A Coralville man was taken into custody after an incident in North Liberty where he allegedly threatened his significant other and a juvenile with a gun.
Police say they were dispatched to the area of Penn Street and Penn Oaks Drive just after 12:30am Thursday on reports of suspicious activity involving a red Dodge. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and conduct a traffic stop.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that the front seat passenger, identified as 42-year-old Carldray Tucker of Boston Way, allegedly pointed a loaded handgun at the woman who he’s involved with and threatening to kill her.
Tucker is also accused of pointing the weapon at a juvenile passenger.
The gun was reportedly located under the seat that Tucker was occupying. After police placed him in handcuffs, Tucker is accused of physically resisting them as he was escorted to the squad car.
Tucker faces a host of charges, including Simple Assault, possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Interference With Official Acts, Domestic Abuse Assault with use of a weapon, Assault with Use or Display of a Weapon, four counts of Harassment, two counts of Child Endangerment, and Dominion or Control of a Firearm as a Felon. If convicted on all counts, Tucker could be sentenced to over 13 years in prison.
