Causing an accident that tied up traffic on Interstate 380 north of I-80 Saturday morning has led to the arrest of a Cedar Rapids man.

Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a Chevy Impala that had gone into the ditch on the I-380 southbound-to-I-80 eastbound off-ramp just before 9am Saturday.  According to arrest records, the driver, identified as 22-year-old Kyle Hale of 26th Street NW, showed signs of impairment. No alcohol was found in his system upon breath testing, but a drug recognition expert determined he was under the influence of cannabis and a CNS depressant. Hale refused to provide a urine sample.

Hale is charged with Operating While Intoxicated.
