IC man, Clarence woman injured in three-vehicle accident near Lisbon

An Iowa City man and a Clarence woman were injured in a three-vehicle accident Monday morning near Lisbon.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, just before 10am 35-year-old Nicholas Steffen was driving eastbound on Highway 30 near Charles Avenue, between Lisbon and Mechanicsville, when his Ford Ranger crossed the center line and hit a westbound Chevy Cruze being driven by 70-year-old Kathleen Wickman head-on. A Chevy Impala being driven by 35-year-old Katherine Trout of Stanwood was behind Wickman, and veered into the north ditch to avoid the accident.

Steffen was transported to Lisbon by Mt. Vernon Ambulance, while Wickman was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Their conditions have not been released.

The accident remains under investigation.
