Contacting the protected party in a no-contact order less than an hour after it was issued has led to the arrest of an Iowa City man.
Iowa City Police served the order on 42-year-old Benjamin Anderson of Owl Song Lane Friday night. The order includes Anderson’s minor children.
Police say around 7:16 Friday night…less than an hour after the order was served…Anderson sent multiple text messages to one of the protected parties encouraging the recipient to contact him.
Anderson was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 10:30 Friday night and charged with a no-contact order violation, a simple misdemeanor punishable by a maximum of 30 days in jail.
