A rural Johnson County man is being treated for serious injuries at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after a UTV crash Sunday.
A release from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office indicates that at 3:56 p.m., the Solon Fire Department, Johnson County Ambulance Service and Sheriff’s deputies responded to a crash involving a Utility Terrain Vehicle at the 1900 block of Highway 1 Northeast in Solon.
41-year-old Brian Tucker of rural Johnson County was operating a Polaris Ranger UTV on private property when he lost control, causing the UTV to roll. The passenger, a 9 year old child, was ejected and sustained minor injuries.
Tucker was pinned underneath of the UTV and sustained serious injuries; he was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Neither Tucker nor the child were wearing seatbelts.
The crash remains under investigation by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
