An Ottumwa man was arrested early Monday after allegedly being found in an unoccupied Lone Tree home.
According to police reports, just after 3:30am law enforcement noticed a suspicious vehicle parked on a Highway 22 property that had been burglarized before and was known to be unoccupied. 29-year-old Scott Puffinbarger of West 5th Street in Ottumwa was found inside with flashlights, and under Miranda allegedly admitted that he didn’t know whose house it was and he was just looking around inside.
Another unidentified person was found with Puffinbarger who had stolen property in his pocket that he allegedly admitted had been taken from the house.
Puffinbarger was charged with 3rd Degree Burglary , a Class D Felony punishable by a prison term of up to five years if convicted.
