The last 24 hour period ending Tuesday morning shows a positivity rate of nearly 50 percent and another record number of Iowans hospitalized with COVID-19.
27 new deaths were reported, bringing the total to 1872 since the pandemic began in March.
Another 4441 confirmed cases of the virus were reported from 8893 new tests, a positivity rate of 49.9 percent. There have been over 161,257 positive cases in total.
A record 1135 people are now hospitalized with COVID-19. 196 of them are in the ICU and 90 are on ventilators.
